What is Popular Telephone?

This is a Government social benefit for low-income families. Therefore, its purpose is to introduce people to access to fixed telephony, but at reduced rates. Each state or region providing the service has a pricing plan, which ranges from R$ 13 to R$ 15.

Remembering that the plan gives you the right to 90 minutes (non-cumulative) of calls per month, from landline to landline, as well as to local prefixes. What is not included?

  • Calls to cell phones;
  • Intercity and;
  • International calls.

However, it is worth noting that they can be done, but you will need to add credits. These will be available at telecommunications concessionaire stores or lottery shops.

How do I get the Popular Phone?

There are some requirements that must be met in order to be eligible for the Popular Telephone. First, you will need to be registered with Cad Único (Single Registry of Federal Government Social Programs).

At the same time, those who can earn more than the minimum wage and have access to the Single Registry can have access.

I want to place my order. What now?

Then, once all the previous steps have been completed, simply go to a call center. However, not all of them accept this, so here is a list below!

  • Algar Telecom (present in the Triângulo Mineiro region, as well as in some municipalities in the north of SP, GO and in the municipality of Paranaíba/MT);
  • Oi and Vivo (except in the state of SP);
  • Sercomtel (in the interior of Paraná.

Finally, just provide the CPF to which the cell phone is linked and the NIS (Social Identification Number). As for installation, it takes up to 7 days after the order. There are companies that charge for installation. The price can vary between R$$ 28 and R$$ 185.
